Adirondack chairs are beautiful and highly comfortable garden furniture. Out of our own enthusiasm for this garden classic, we started a search for the ideal adirondack chair. Which materials are the most beautiful? And how do you ensure optimal comfort?
In cooperation with our Canadian manufacturer, we developed the Comfy Chair:

This is what we care about
The best materials
We use knot-free, luxury red cedar wood, carefully selected and sawn from whole planks. Our plastic furniture is made of thoroughly coloured, high-quality plastics.
Responsible production
The red cedar wood comes from responsibly managed Canadian forests. The plastic materials are (largely) recyclable.
Ultimate comfort
Comfy Chairs are adirondack chairs with a unique design. Thanks to an extra deep seat, wide armrests and an ergonomic shape, you enjoy maximum comfort.

Production & Origin
Vancouver
Forest
In the forests of Vancouver, the red cedar wood for the comfy Chairs is carefully selected. Canada has a strict forest management policy. Hence, the wood used comes from responsibly managed forests.
Ontario
Sawmill
In Ontario, Canada, cedar trees are cut into planks at a sawmill. These planks are then manually sawn into the parts of the Comfy Chair furniture. Because the parts are sawn from whole planks, the natural shades of colour are preserved. Every Comfy Chair is therefore 100% unique!
Rotterdam
Harbour
The various parts are packed on pallets and sailed by container ship to the Netherlands. The plastic chair parts are loaded from the manufacturer into the same container. The boat journey takes an average of 14 days. From the Rotterdam port, the pallets are driven by trucks to Barneveld.
Barneveld (NL)
Warehouse
In Barneveld (in the middle of the Netherlands), pallets of parts are placed in our warehouse. All parts are checked. If everything is in order, we pack the individual parts into ready-to-ship kits. As compact as possible, to save space during shipping. By the way, plastic furniture is already partly pre-assembled.
Europe
Shipping
The parcel delivery company picks up the kits and ships them all over Europe. As a customer, you receive a cardboard box containing the individual parts. With the help of a clear assembly video and instructions, you assemble the furniture yourself
History
2000
The first wooden Comfy Chairs come to the Netherlands. After extensive contact with an intermediary in Canada, the prototype is developed and shipped. It is not long before the Comfy Chair trade name is applied for at the Chamber of Commerce. Comfy Chair Europe takes off.
2013
Contact with Canada is made through an intermediary at first. The first working visit to the manufacturer followed in 2013. A remarkable experience, because Comfy Chairs are made by Mennonites: a small religious community in the Ontario region that lives according to centuries-old traditions. Craftsmanship and handicraft are highly valued by them. They are a reliable production partner with an eye for quality.
2014
Comfy Chair takes over all activities surrounding production. From now on, we will be in charge ourselves, from purchasing the wood to packaging and shipping the products.
2018
After a period of development and testing, Comfy Chair starts selling plastic adirondack chairs. Exactly the same design, but made of a new material. A great addition to our range!
2021
Comfy Chair cushions are now on sale. In cooperation with a European cushion manufacturer, we have now developed and produced adirondack cushions. Unique, because the shape is fully adapted to the Comfy Chairs.
2024
The new website has been launched. The site is now better suited to mobile use and includes the latest product photos and information.
